VAGRANT

Vagrant is a first attempt at an antweight robot, a prototype which while not being a competitive robot serves as a platoform with which to explore the technologies behind an antweight robot.

Vagrant is a very simple 2 wheeled wedge design. Power comes from two modified Acoms servos driving foam model aircraft wheels, the prototype chassis is made of thick card and the whole thing is held together by Post Office rubber bands. The radio is a cheap Acoms 40MHz AM 2 channel device. With a Varta PCB mount NiMh cell the weight is 165g, which means that an achievable 15g has to be lost somewhere.
